Words can't express what a great President we have in Royce Harris. She seems relentless to keep our members active. Whether it is accomplishing a goal of getting 30 + (4'x4') painted Quilt Squares Boards sponsored and installed all over the Gibson County countryside or encouraging photography exhibitions, members exhibitions and workshops; she is always there to get it done! Royce always does a wonderful job as our National Exhibition Chairperson as well.
Royce does beautiful photography and knows art because she taught art for many years. She especially loves to travel. So on behalf of our membership I say "thank you," and we do appreciate all that you do. By the way I would be remiss if I did not mention our dedicated mentor, Berlynne Holman and Bobbie Jean Parnell who were two of our Founding Members and continues to guide us. You continue to keep us focused on the mission of GCVAA. It was Berlynne who wrote our Tennessee Arts Commission Grants for many years. I was honored when Berlynne tagged me to take over the grant writing and she continues to advise me. Bobbie Jean served as Treasurer from 1997 until just recently. Nell Lemings stepped up to be our new Treasurer. Regina Crawley, an art educator, does a flawless job as our Secretary. We welcome new members above, Leigh Butler and Janet Foster to our group. It is hoped that Royce will enjoy posting some blogs here for our members to comment on. Any members who would like to submit a blog. You may send Royce or me and we will post here. This website if for our membership and others to check out. So what do you think of our new website! If you have any suggestions let me know. I am not sure what to do with the blue buttons.
